Mutual Aid & Resisting Repression–The Black Panther Experience

With a short turnaround time, knowing that Aaron Dixon was in town, we weren’t sure how many would join us for this enlightening event. We were happily surprised to find a packed house of individuals, many involved in mutual aid groups, excited to hear from Mr. Dixon, a founding member of the Seattle Chapter of the Black Panther Party. He recounted his experience establishing the Panthers in Seattle, including food and medical services–Seattle Roots Community Health is the current incarnation of the medical clinic established by the Panthers.

At this time it is more important than ever to hear the experience of building mutual aid infrastructure and other necessary steps in resisting repression. Copies of Aaron’s Book, My People Are Rising, were be available for purchase and sold out quickly.
